  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman, Professor M. Shah Alam Khan and Professor Md. Munsur Rahman and Professor Mashfiqus Salehin attended the international conference "Deltas in Times of Climate Change II" during 24-26 September 2014. In that conference Professor M. Shah Alam Khan acted as a member of the "Scientific Committee" and Convenor of the theme on "Freshwater Management". He also chaired two sessions. In the conference Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman presented a paper titled as “Natural Hazards and Migration in the Coastal Region of Bangladesh”. Mashfiqus Salehin also presented named as “Special Variation in Soil Salinity in Relation to Hydro-Climatic Factors in Southwest Coastal Bangladesh”. A poster named as “Sediment Re-circulation in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna Estuarine and its Implication for Ecosystem Services” was presented by Professor Md. Munsur Rahman .
  • Professor G M Tarekul Islam attended a workshop named as "Global Observation of Forest and Land Cover Dynamics (GOFC-GOLD)- System for Analysis, Research and Training (START) Regional Network Data Initiative Workshop" organized by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center and Boston University during 28th of July to 15th of August. There he presented a paper names as “Land Use and Land Cover Change Detection in Kaptai Lake Basin”
  • During 25-29 May, 2014 in a short course arranged by CEGIS on Concept and Practice of Integrated Water Resources Management for Training of Trainers (ToT), Professor Abul Fazal M. Saleh delivered a lecture on "Irrigation Water Management in the Context of IWRM". Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman also delivered a lecture on " Water and Ecosystems ". A lecture on " Social and Institutional Conflict: Role of Stakeholder Analysis was delivered by Professor M. Shah Alam Khan. "Concepts and Principles of IWRM, Demand Management and Water Allocation". Professor Mashfiqus Salehin also delivered a lecture on " Concepts and Principles of IWRM, Demand Management and Water Allocation".
  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman delivered a lecture as a panel discussant in Roundtable on Water Commons organized by WaterAid on 22nd March 2014.
  • Professor M. Shahjahan Mondal participated in the Planning Workshop “Resilence and Inclusive Urban Development” organized by German Development Cooperation (GIZ) during 22-24 March, 2014.
  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman delivered a lecture on Changing Coast, Embankments and Tidal Basin Management in a IUCN organized Symposium named as “Mangrove for Future (MFF) Symposium on Coastal Community Resilience” during 30-31 March, 2014.
  • Professor M. Shahjahan Mondal delivered a lecture on “State of Dhaka Rivers and Role of Civil Society for Its Improvemence” organized by Association for Land Reform & Development (ALRD) and Water Right Forum during 30-31 March, 2014.
  • Professor Mashfiqus Salehin participated in the training Programme “River Erosion & Embankment Safety Management in South Asia Region” as a resource person which is organized by SAARC Disaster Management Centre during 29 th March- 4 th April, 2014. There he delivered a lecture on “Trans-boundary Water Issues: Its Impact on Flood Management”.
  • Professor Mashfiqus Salehin participated as a resource person in the training Programme “Strengthening Transparency and Access to Information on Transboundary Water Governance in South Asia” organized by Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) during 19th match to 16th April, 2014. There he delivered a lecture on Transboundary water context (issues & problems) with special reference to Ganges/Padma River.
  • Professor M. Shah Alam Khan delivered two lectures in the training Programme “Facing the Challenges in Climate Change in WATSAN Sector” organized by ITN, BUET during 16-24 March, 2014.
  • Professor Mashfiqus Salehin participated as a resource person in the training Programme “Training of Trainers (ToT) for Water Management & Community Development (Phase-II)” organized by Bangladesh Water Development Board and there he delivered a lecture on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM):Concepts and Principles.
  • Ms. Sonia Binte Murshed participated in the technical committee meeting of the Impact of Climate Change on Human Life (ICCHL) 2013-16 Program under BBS.
  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman, Professor M. Shah Alam Khan, Professor Md. Munsur Rahman and Professor A. K. M. Saiful Islam participated in the Consultation Workshop of World Bank on 5th May, 2014.
  • Professor G M Tarekul Islam participated in a workshop named as "International Conference on the Asian Monsoon and Climate Change" from 20th to 21th January, 2014 at Islamabad, Pakistan. He delivered a lecture on "Impact of Climate Change on Rainfall and its Implications in Urban Drainage Systems in Three Coastal Towns in Bangladesh" as an invited speaker there.
  • Professor G M Tarekul Islam participated in a meeting titled as "International Thematic Research Group on Climate Change and Environmental Protection" on 22nd January, 2014 at Islamabad, Pakistan.
    Professor Sujit Kumar Bala participated in a promotional workshop “Academic Innovation Fund (AIF)” on 27th January, 2014 organized by BUET P&D under HEQEP project.
  • Ms. Sonia Binte Murshed is working as a member of the technical committee of “Impact of Climate Change on Human Life (ICCHL) 2013-16 Program” from 9th February, 2014.
    Fareast International University has nominated Professor G M Tarekul Islam as a member of “Teacher Selection Committee” for Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
  • Professor A. K. M. Saiful Islam is working as a member of National Dialogue Initiative (NDI) of Department of Environment.
  • Professor G M Tarekul Islam, Professor Sujit Kumar Bala and Professor A. K. M. Saiful Islam participated in “Crop Forecasting and Loss Assessment in Flash-flood Prone Haor Regions through Remote Sensing Technique” workshop organized by AIT and BARI.
  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman delivered a lecture titled as “Planning Considerations for Hydraulic Structures” at Capacity Development Programme of IWM on 17th February, 2014.
  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman delivered a lecture titled as “Technologies in Disaster Risk Reduction” at a Disaster Workshop organized by WaterAid on 19th February, 2014.
  • Professor A. K. M. Saiful Islam participated in a workshop titled as “Action on Climate Change in South Asia- In Invitation to participate in National Consultation Workshop " on 9th  March, 2014.
  • Professor G M Tarekul Islam participated in “National Consultation Workshop on Flood Early Warning Dissemination Process” workshop organized by IUCN and  ActionAid on 11th  March, 2014.
  • Professor Mohammad Rezaur Rahman has been conducting the course RDM 512: Sustainable Floodplain Management at Independent University since Spring 2014.
  • Professor Mashfiqus Salehin is now conducting the course DM 5241: Integrated Flood Risk Management in Bangladesh at the University of Dhaka.
  • Professor M. Shahjahan Mondal participated in a workshop "An Investment Framework of the Project titled “Improving Surface Water Irrigation in Coastal Areas and Sylhet Division in Bangladesh (TCP/BD/3303)”, organaised by Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) during 17-18 November, 2013.
