The Climate Adaptation and Livelihood Protection (CALIP) is a supplementary project integrated with IFAD’s Haor Infrastructure and Livelihoods Improvement Project (HILIP) launched in 2012.  Under the CALIP project implemented by LGED, IWFM is conducting this five years long research project in collaboration with Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (FFWC) of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) and Institute of Water Modeling (IWM).  A major focus of the project is capacity building for weather and flash flood forecasting.  The project is building on existing systems to develop a more robust system for weather and flash flood related data generation, analysis and dissemination, as well as community preparedness and response capacity.
