The coastal Bangladesh community faces a severe drinking water crisis due to high salinity, and climate change worsens the situation. To identify innovative, community-centered solutions, Brac, in collaboration with the International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC) and with financial support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), organized a Water Hackathon. In the competition, 250+ ideas were submitted to solve the drinking water problem in coastal Bangladesh. Out of those, the idea led by team AMCC: Atmospheric Moisture for Coastal Community, comprised of HE students Miftahul Jannat Labiba (team leader), and Md Zahidul Alam (team member), under the supervision of IWFM Assistant Professor Dr. Partho Das won the runner-up mention.
